What is the strangest job that you’ve ever had?

I guess I would have to say being a building technology coordinator as well as a PE teacher at a school I worked at before coming to MAMS. Most find that a very strange combination but I'm a bit of an Apple geek and love a good problem to troubleshoot!

If you could switch jobs with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?

Any of the NBC sports commentators for the 2020 Summer Olympics.  It's my life long dream to attend a Summer Olympics and I can't imagine a better way to watch it then from the broadcast booth. Plus as many of students know, I love to talk so I might even be good at it!

If you had some free time, how would you spend it? OR How do you spend your summer vacations?

My free time is usually spent with my family. My daughter recently moved to North Carolina (Go Heels) and my husband and I have been down several times to visit.  You will also find me on the golf course, at the beach or reading a good book next to my pool.

What does a typical day at MAMS look like for you?

My days are busy but go so quickly. I have 2 6th grade classes followed by 2 7th. Then lunch and sometimes lunch duty. I finish out my day with 2 8th grade classes.

What do you love about middle school?

The kids! Teaching middle school is very much like the analogy about a box of chocolates from the movie Forrest Gump. You never know what you're going to get. There are certainly no dull moments and it keeps my on my toes! I feel very fortunate to be able to teach all 3 grades and get to know all our students. It's so amazing to see them come in as 6th graders and leave 3 years later as young adults. The change is amazing and it's a privilege to be part of that transformation.
